4-5pm – Meet & Greet Libations
Enter the threshold of The Rosarium and prepare for an evening steeped in mystery and wonder. The flickering candles and the scent of incense will accompany us as we raise our glasses to the arcane. This moment of introduction and mingling shall set the tone for the evening’s unfolding journey.
5-6pm –Lecture: Between the Witch and the Devil
Join Corinne Boyer as she leads us on a journey to explore the intersection Between the Witch and the Devil a recent self-published book that comprises a fascinating collection of European folklore that exists between the quintessential witch and the devil.
This relationship can be described in many ways: supernatural, mythological, spiritual, clandestine. The focal points of interaction between the physical witch and the spiritual devil were many. This lore primarily grew up from the 350 years of the witchtrial period, though the roots that formed this haunted and twisted tree go much further back. Indeed, there were many parallels between the olden spirits of the ‘enchanted world’ of nature and the spiritual aspects of both the witch and the devil.
The focus of the event will be the upon the exploration of witch and devil folklore from Northern and Western Europe. A one hour talk on the subject will be given, with question and answer time at the end. Corinne’s book will be available, with signed and hand stamped copies for sale.Some topics within the book that will be addressed in the lecture include: Maleficium-The Witches’ Poison and The Food of Witches and Fairies in the Land of the Dead.
6-7pm – Q & A and Book Signing
As twilight deepens, we invite you to delve deeper into the whispers between the Witch and the Devil. Ask your questions and/or share personal musings. Following the discussion Corinne will offer signed copies of her book The Witch and the Devil.
This gathering is offered freely, in the spirit of shared knowledge and esoteric kinship.
However, space within the Rosarium is limited—
and the spirits favor those who act with intention.
