Exclusive Interview by Magical Recipes Online
Interview with an Alchemist, creator of Rosarium Blends! Professionals and Magic!
You know it so far! We love alchemy and Magical Recipes which root back to ancient traditions and the uncanny Wisdom of the craft. Alchemy does not aim only to transmute common metals to noble ones. The real attempt of the alchemists is much much deeper! The real purpose of alchemy is to transmute ourselves and reach higher states of consciousness and living.
Rosarium Blends is a brand which produces Alchemical Products for each and every Pagan and non-Pagan practitioner of Magic such as Herbal Blends, Oil Blendsand lately Perfumes. You already know that we love this brand from our 5-star reviews on Phoenix Herbal Blend, and Divination Herbal Blend. But we wanted more. Here follows a really interesting interview of a wise alchemist and talented artist, the creator of Rosarium Blends, Catamara.
Magical Recipes Online: The first impression of your products was enough to make us want to know more about them. But what was this initial feeling that made you want to create Rosarium Blends?
Catamara, Rosarium Blends: Many moons ago I was ‘apprenticing’ under a witch sister of mine to learn how to make magickal incense and oil blends. The initial idea was that we would both work on her business together. I, as an employee would streamline her process and help make the blends as well as carry out administrative duties to help promote her business. My long-term goal was to eventually open my own business. Shortly thereafter she moved to San Francisco and our communications regretfully diminished to a degree that made it difficult for me to learn from her afar. I also realized I wasn’t learning what I had initially felt I would; I was only learning how to make her formulas. Feeling conflicted; through extensive meditation and divination work determined what direction I should pursue. This resulted in the decision to take a Master Herbalist class so I could truly learn how to work with plants medicinally, energetically, and magickally. Thus the journey continues…
MRO: What is Rosarium Blends all about?
Catamara: Rosarium Blends makes their own ritual incense blends; enchanting essential oil blends, and perfumes using the finest herbs, woods, resins and essential oils. All formulations are original recipes and the result of extensive historical research, practical experimentation, and magical studies.
Each are blended and charged during the appropriate lunar phases and astrological correspondences to enhance the potency and increase the heightened awareness they are designed to awaken during use. Their use will elevate and enliven the senses. Each serving as a direct link to the inherent energies the charm embodies.
I am the sole proprietor of Rosarium Blends, A Master Herbalist, Alchemist, and Ritual Artist. My experience and knowledge working with herbs is extensive, much of this self taught, motivated by my desire and attraction to herbs and scents and how they impact the subconscious.
In addition I have successfully completed The Hermit’s Grove Master Herbalism Program (Paul Beyerl), The Spagyrics Institute of Practical and Traditional Alchemy, Prima Level in the Herbal Kingdom (Robert Bartlett), Hoodoo and Rootwork course (Catherine Yronwode), and is a Master in the Arte of the Wortcunning Incense Tradition (Leon Reed).
MRO: What is your background as far as Alchemy, Witchcraft and Ancient traditions are concerned?
Catamara: I have been a student and practitioner of various Western and Eastern traditions for over the past 16 years. My current studies and practicum include Herbal Alchemy, Tantra, Cunning Craft Sorcery and South American Vegetalismo practice. Through all of my experience and studies I find most of my influence and attraction has been in Traditional European Witchcraft and Plant medicine.
I am largely interested in cross diversification, working to cultivate networking and community based events wherein diverse belief systems and traditional practices may be shared, offering a deeper understanding and education through these communal experiences. A great manifestation of where this has been achieved can be experienced at an annual convention held in Seattle, WA of which I am one of the co-founders of – The Esoteric Book Conference.
MRO: We notice an interesting diversity in your products, Greek, Egyptian, Indian and Latin origins. Any favorite in particular?
Catamara: As for any particular leaning in my personal practice, I would say all of them. This is why you see such diversity in my products. To date, most of my formulas are a result of work I was doing in my independent magickal praxis. I have strong leanings towards aspects of each, but more so the diversity you see presently comes from my devotion to Sekhmet, Kali, and Hekate. –Three very potent, powerful goddesses who have greatly impacted my life over the years in various ways.
MRO: What fascinates you most in your work? Do you follow a certain tradition in particular or would you describe yourself as a witch or an alchemist?
Catamara: I do not follow any particular tradition and perhaps this is what fascinates me the most about my work. I have studied and practiced many magickal paradigms extensively and work with aspects of each of them in varying ways in my independent practice. I do not like ‘labels’ as I feel they pigeon hole one into a fixed sphere, whereas I feel nothing is static, everything is fluid and always moving, ever-evolving. I have been asked this question numerous times and the best way I can describe my magickal passions is as a ‘Sorcerous, Hermetic, Alchemist, Tantric, Witch’. If you know anything about any of these epithets you should be able to get a pretty good idea of where my magickal passions lie and what traditions I am inspired by.
MRO: Where do you get your inspiration?
Catamara: The inspiration for my blends primarily comes from individual magickal workings where I have felt inspired to create devotional or magickal charms to work with during these rites. I have worked with each one extensively; therefore the egregore of each charm is quite strong. In addition, a few of my blends are the result of custom work I was hired to do for others and arrangements were agreed upon for me to sell them on my website thereafter. I also have two new product lines I’ll be launching in a few months. One of which is largely inspired by my medicine work with South American Curanderismo. The other inspired by my interest in Aphrodisiacs in the plant kingdom.
MRO: Why would you propose your products? What impact do you believe they could create in your buyers lives?
Catamara: Each of my blends are magickal charms. They work on the subtle plain even when worn or burned without intention. If worked with intention the possibilities one experiences working with them is indeed limitless. I always tell people when they are sampling my products at vending events to take heed in which charms they select and to be ready for the impact they may have on their lives. I caution those who approach me who are focused on finding a new scent that smells good to them that they only intend to wear based on the scent and not what the charm embodies. Be careful what you wish for! The juxtaposition of this is that not only are my charms potent and powerful, they also smell intoxicating! I am providing the key to unlock/open portals to the divine, it’s up to the practitioner to determine how they wish to utilize this.
MRO: Could you share a story of a customer where the experience s/he had using your product has made you smile?
Catamara: Yes! I get constant feedback from my customers sharing the outcomes they have experienced integrating my blends into their lives. Each time I am humbled by their words and experiences and I smile, sometimes tears even accompany these smiles! Most recently I received a missive from a lady who bought some of my Phoenix and Manifestation oil blends for herself and her daughter. In her words “I gave her the manifestation oil along with the Phoenix and her life has absolutely been set on fire”. She continued to share with me all of the many amazing achievements both of them have manifested over the past 9 months since beginning their work with my oils. The accomplishments were astounding and quite extensive. She closed with the following statement “I am only sharing these things ~ because your products have definitely helped us on our way to spiritual growth and mystical discoveries.” It humbles me deeply and I am very grateful that people care enough to take the time out of their day and communicate their accomplishments and stories with me. Knowing that my work is aiding in changing other peoples lives only deepens and validates the ‘knowing’ that I’m doing the great work and inspiring others to do the same.
MRO: Pirowica. This is a name we never before seen. You describe “her” as a “deamon of enterprise” . Could you please enlighten us more? What do you mean by that? Should we consider it as a spirit?
Catamara: Pirowica by simple definition is a Daemon of Enterprise –a kinetic generator of tangible manifestation in development of businesses, projects, tasks and ventures.
Pirowica is a god form that was created and manifested by a dear friend of mine when she was working on the development of becoming an independent business owner. Her name is an acronym of 8 words that were attributes she wanted this god form to embody and that she wanted to embody in herself while embarking upon this endeavor while maintaining ease and grace with her family and friends. The attributes that create her name are as follows: Perfection, Integrity, Respect, Originality, Wit, Individual, Clout, and Allure.
Being a dear friend of mine who was offering her services to me in the beginning of her business venture, I wanted to do something special for her to give thanks. My PIROWICA oil is the tangible manifestation of this god form, which was originally intended solely for my friend. The oils I selected to use in this formulation were based off the associations I made from the different Sephiroth on the Tree of Life. I placed each attribute to the sphere I felt best represented the word and then formulated the oil from scents attributed to each corresponding sephiroth and number.
The latin origin of the word ‘daemon’ is a spirit, an evil spirit, and the Greek origin is a deity, fate, fortune; compare daiesthai to distribute. In classical mythology it is a God or subordinate deity, a genius of a place or person’s attendant spirit.
PIROWICA is this and so much more. Her egregore is strong and she wants to be known and experienced by others. It was at her request that I am now able to offer her to others through Rosarium Blends so she can be known to the world.
MRO: How do you believe your products should be used? Any piece of advice?
Catamara: My products should be used with care, caution and belief. The energies that each embody should be respected and worked with integrity. They can used in ritual work, meditation and personal embodiment, and to anoint ritual objects. Each one has different energies and I would recommend any practitioner to take care and tune into these energies prior to and when working with them to align themselves to their mysteries, especially if they are unfamiliar with the energy it embodies but attracted to it.
