108 rudraksha bead mala
Used to count 108 x intoning mantra.
Rudraksha seeds are sacred to Shiva. The word rudraksha is derived from Rudra (Shiva—the Hindu god of all living creatures) and aksha (eyes). It is believed that a single tear from the eye of Shiva grew into the rudraksha tree. Many believe by wearing a Rudraksha bead on their person they receive the protection of Shiva. Most Shiva devotees use this type of mala in their japa devotion.
